FirstLook's New Traffic Light System for Account Status

At FirstLook, we’ve introduced a Traffic Light System to help users understand their account status and ensure transparency in how we handle violations of our community guidelines.

At FirstLook, we’ve introduced a Traffic Light System to help users understand their account status and ensure transparency in how we handle violations of our community guidelines. This system uses four colors—white, green, yellow, and red—to represent different account states. Here’s how it works:

White: Good Standing

When your account is in good standing, it’s marked as white. This means:

  • You have no warnings, suspensions, or bans.

  • You have full access to all features and beta programs.

White is the default status for all users and reflects a healthy, active account.

🟢 Green: Warning

A green status indicates that your account has received a warning. Warnings are issued for minor violations of our community guidelines or terms of service. While your account remains active, this is a signal to take corrective action.

What to Do:

  • Review the reason for the warning, which will be displayed in your Account Status page.

  • Ensure compliance with our guidelines to avoid further consequences.

Warnings are temporary and may expire after a set period if no additional violations occur.

🟡 Yellow: Suspension

A yellow status means your account has been suspended due to repeated or more serious violations. During a suspension:

  • Your access to the app is restricted.

  • You’ll see a Suspension Notice when attempting to log in, explaining the reason and duration of the suspension.

What to Do:

  • Review the suspension details provided in the notice.

  • Use this time to reflect on the issue and ensure future compliance.

Suspensions are temporary, but repeated violations after a suspension may escalate to a permanent ban.

🔴 Red: Ban

A red status indicates that your account has been banned. This is the result of severe or repeated violations of our policies. Once banned:

  • You will no longer have access to the app.

  • You will receive an email and/or text notification explaining the reason for the ban and confirming the termination of your access.

Unfortunately, bans are permanent, and your account cannot be reinstated.

How the System Works

The Traffic Light System is tied to a progressive enforcement policy:

  1. White (Good Standing): No issues.

  2. Green (Warning): First violation; a chance to correct your behavior.

  3. Yellow (Suspension): Temporary restriction due to repeated or serious violations.

  4. Red (Ban): Permanent account termination for severe or repeated violations.

Each status change is logged, and you’ll receive notifications for warnings, suspensions, or bans.

Why This Matters

The Traffic Light System is designed to:

  • Promote accountability by clearly communicating account status.

  • Encourage positive behavior by providing opportunities to correct issues.

  • Protect the community by addressing violations in a fair and consistent manner.

We hope this system helps create a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone on FirstLook. If you have questions about your account status or need assistance, please contact our support team. Let’s work together to maintain a positive community!
